For the fog sequence in my film I have taken inspiration from the artist Joseph Mallord William Turner. Turner paints minimalistic watercolour paintings of the coast, these two paintings are an example of his work which have been based on locations near mine, deal. My shots use a similar colour pallet to his paintings, using soft blues and greys. The fog also matches the simplistic style of his paintings, he uses visible brush strokes to build the image. He choses colours that blend into each other, making the painting appear flat.
He has also used the single brush strokes to create movement, in the waves the brush strokes move up the wall of the wave and separate at the top, making the wave appear to form and break at the top.
